The basic principles of Cypriot contract law are codified in the Contract Law, Cap. 149. In addition to the basic contract law which has an impact on all contracts, there is a vast body of other Cypriot and EU laws that regulate specific types of contract e.g. employment law contracts, consumer contracts, consumer credit contracts, provision of financial services, etc. In Cyprus, contract law is becoming increasingly extensive and complex as technology stretches the boundaries of existing laws.
The commercial team regularly drafts and negotiates a wide range of commercial contracts and agreements. The team also provides support in litigation matters and represents its clients in local and international commercial disputes. The team provides strategic advice on a range of matters including regulatory issues and represents its clients before regulatory bodies including the Cyprus Stock Exchange Commission, Cyprus Trade Commission, Cyprus Environmental Commission and Cyprus Health & Safety Commission.
